"we wanted to celebrate unfoundsound's first anniversary by offering something special to everybody who supported us throughout this first year. we therefore asked some of our favorite artists, most of them already recognized and not represented on the netlabel scene, to give us a single track that we would include in a compilation. the response was overwhelmingly positive. we then completed the line-up with several foundsound and unfoundsound artists. and here is the result: 2h 45mn to explore numerous genres of electronic music through 26 tracks. the best netrelease ever? we don't know. the longest? maybe!" Jay Haze - Collaborations

"30 releases. 2 years, unimaginable bandwidth, releases from the likes of René Breitbarth, Jay Haze, Troy Pierce, Matt John, Peter Spiess, Mikael Stavöstrand, Lump, Fenin, Jambi and the list goes on and on.
So we're celebrating adulthood and with that a few gifts from us to you. First, from now on releases are 256Kb/s. Second is this release. Jay Haze and 5 Textone family members. Collaborations are just that. Sessions at Haze's studio with almost no post production just the raw power of a subwoofer and creative minds.
To kick the EP off is Jay and Jambi. The two lads behind Contexterrior Media spend a Friday night in the studio recording over two hours of jams which ended up as this 8 minutes lick. The tune is an analog wash of textures and mental grooves. Second come Jay Haze and Argenix. The two share studio space and this is just one of many many collaborations. The track has a melancholic undertone and a headbanging kick. Both producers' unique styles come through so nicely on this one. Use Me Baby is a collaboration with Falko Brocksieper who is the man behind Sub-Static and Karloff. The track is pumping and in Textone tradition filled with little surprises. Guitar experiment is exactly that. Alberto's magic hands on a guitar all recorded live to the sound of the minimal funk being served from Haze's machines. It's deep but funky and has that very live feel of a free jazz jam. Astrology is a vocal, 12 minutes long madness. Funky and tweeky as can be expected from a collaboration between Samim and Jay Haze.
So we came baring gifts and now on to the next release." (From the Textone's release page)

Ricardo vs. Jay - Prefer Summer [+Remixes]

"Celebrate one year of Textone with Villalobos vs. Haze.
- One year of Textone, 20 releases, more than 100 individual tracks, more than 150000 downloads. Thank you for making the past twelve months such a great experience! As a birthday present to us and you, we are releasing Contexterrior's sold-out summer record by Ricardo Villalobos and Jay Haze for free.
An artistic tandem jump if you will, "Prefer Summer" is a melancholic summer hit. Melodic and deep filled with endless progression and relentless syncopation. This one is bound for the special moments when the party needs an extra kick. "Cactus Love" - is a stomper. 4 to the floor bass killer with the kind of sound design one can expect from Villalobos and Haze. Minimal funk in every possible way. The final vinyl track - "Archive" - is a delicate techno-blues track. An after-party killer wrapped in reverbs and in your face bass lines.
On top of the original tracks from Contexterrior 08 you can find three exclusive remixes not available on vinyl. With Jambi, a core Textone artist is sizing up the dancefloor in his pumping reinterpretation. Cabanne, rocking here in his trademark minimal snippet funk, is the head of French minimal label Telegraph, which is best known for its Post Office compilation series. Philadelphia-based Sean O'Neal aka Someone Else crawls deep into his reverb and fx boxes to close out the EP shuffle-style. Sean co-founded Tuning Spork Records with the Textone crew back in 1999, recently released on Musik Krause and now runs his own vinyl label Foundsound." (From the Textone's release page)
