"The new Sinergy release is a generous debut of italians SMBP, with three original tracks and six remixes signed by some of the artists from the label staff.
Grace, which gives name to the compilation is a sober abstract ambient piece, over its minimal side, with plenty sound textures developed to lisergic tech-dub structures.
One of those remixes is made by Johann Skugge, giving a mechanical & groovy vision. It's an excellent combination of loops that seem to be obteined from a fabric machine rush working. It's one of the dancefull tracks of the album. The canarian Abstract Groove honours his name making another remix of the track in which shows his well done artwork, combinig as abstract sounds as dancing structures, while offering a high level of creativity. That's why it's one of the most original tracks of the album.
Freak, the second SMBP theme, pays homage to the acid culture looked from minimal-techno focus nearing to new concepts of electronic. Dilo's remix is built in deep minimal clef, leaving experimentation and ambient in order to center in faster rhythms straightly driven to the dancefloor.
The third original track of the italians, called Double Pleased, is a progressive hypnosis based on extasis atmospheres, a deep bomb and moody pulses getting into a quasi-biological conversation.
In the smartest face of minimal-ambient is Roman Skok's remix showing a doble slope. One of the sides turns into mistery and dream meanwhile the other creates unquietness thruogh a bomb that can be easily interpretated such a tachycardic heart beat.
Pablo Leon's revision owns an industrial, thicket and acid range becoming a corrosive rhythmical spiral being the most experimental track of all of them and a piece that catches the attention like a heavy machine.
Circal's remix arriving from the mind of Kimberly Klark is a real spotty ambient constructed with sounds that could had it source in nature, basses in the edge of saturation and a twilight luminosity.
Globally, Grace is a minimal exercise of eclecticism.

"As part of the clever swedish Mitek Posse, around heads like Mikael Stavostrand, Martin Jarl, Claudia Bonarelli and Andreas Tilliander, Johan Skugge has had recordings on Source Records , Onitor and Mitek within his three years of releasing. Skugge's music is a fine mix of the three elements his work is built on: dub, drone and groove. His goal is to make contemporary city music with the spirit of jamaican dancehalls and the sweet sounding groove of funk. Skugge is also a member of the electronic blues group Harlem, who released their first album in february 2003 on their own label Gramme. Skugge, as well as Harlem, works in Kolsyrefabriken in Stockholm, a closed down factory building they share with some of the most interesting artists and musicians of the swedish underground.
Johan's compilation track for THN050 made over 7000 Downloads since January 2004 and moreover gave him exciting feedback. So it's time to show up with his own 4-tracker, to present sober clicky Minimal House tracks. Linear programmed, but carrying a lot of easy swing and surrounded by many playful clicks, the EP starts of with "Voodoo Version". "Buddha Time" is placed in more deeper reverbed rooms and gently floats by to the pearling pads and micro rhythms. On "Barceloneta", Skugge manages to create harmolodic deep midnight spheres accompanied by concrete minimalistic house grooves, that are present within the transparent ploppy basslines. Very precise within the minimal spheres, "Stupid Fresh" is a more dry awakening, with clever arranged complex percussive harmonies around twirling pads.
Skugge's sound certainly is of a very precise architecture that reduces structures to a minimum portion of swinging grooves, being at the front of the Clickhouse movement. Crisp, liquid and very enjoyable." (From the Thinner's release page)
