Roman Skok - Explore

"In this reference we can talk about a deep and inner trip through the multiple choice of electronic creation, guided by complex and detailed rhythmic, and by expansive ambient of different capes and oscillated movement that crystallises in "Drop", the main track of the compilation.
Each remix keeps the essence and the cadence of the original.
Kriipis Tulo's one is centred in high density ambient expansion, at the time that creates a game of not many sounds inlaid in the atmospheric mass.
Argentinean Gurtz revision is a progressive symphony when talk about the intensity of the track, in which sound reduction and expansion gives the structure, forming a collage that can carry away to the deepness side of our unconscious to catch ourselves in an asphyxiated space. It is the most enigmatic and abrupt of the remixes.
Black Attitude's one saves the original atmosphere from a freshly rhythmic port, integrating itself in elegant minimal-dub with amiable aspect, that make use of analogical sounds and echoes that open and close secretly. Rhythmic abstraction under enrapture and suggestive air.
Lazzio's remix adopts tempo and structure that belong to techno, getting a wild tone if we compare it to the others. It creates a freestyle dialogue built through sounds that try to integrate in the mass and that finally adapt themselves.
Receptor's one achieves to create a thick and broken remix in which oscillation is subdued to a cut process in which it's being added mathematically lots of hollowed ambients & clicks.
The last recreation in charge of OCP is similar to Black Attitude's one in the way of adopting a minimal dub clef, but in this case with a little touch of rupture and giving an experimental sense to this remix.

"LOD DESCRIPTION
LAVA is a project that I created during my last visit to the canary islands, my home town. I have created music based on the scenery I was surrounded with mixing organic and hypnotic components with complex textures that fill the piece.
This pieces were done for a live set I made for chroma festival in Tenerife and then were sequenced in Barcelona to make them full separate tracks giving them a more dancefloor appeal while keeping the hypnotic and granular parts to it. I have also done a series of pictures from organic lava rocks at the time that I mixed then with software textures to represent the music with visuals, during the festival I proyected all this pictures and another person mixed the textures like it shows in the pictures below making it a very special work full of meaning and feelings" (From the Sinergy Networks' release page)

SMBP + Dilo + Skugge + Abstract Groove + Pablo Leon + Kimberly Klark + Roman Skok - Grace EP
Continue reading "SMBP + Dilo + Skugge + Abstract Groove + Pablo Leon + Kimberly Klark + Roman Skok - Grace EP"
"The new Sinergy release is a generous debut of italians SMBP, with three original tracks and six remixes signed by some of the artists from the label staff.
Grace, which gives name to the compilation is a sober abstract ambient piece, over its minimal side, with plenty sound textures developed to lisergic tech-dub structures.
One of those remixes is made by Johann Skugge, giving a mechanical & groovy vision. It's an excellent combination of loops that seem to be obteined from a fabric machine rush working. It's one of the dancefull tracks of the album. The canarian Abstract Groove honours his name making another remix of the track in which shows his well done artwork, combinig as abstract sounds as dancing structures, while offering a high level of creativity. That's why it's one of the most original tracks of the album.
Freak, the second SMBP theme, pays homage to the acid culture looked from minimal-techno focus nearing to new concepts of electronic. Dilo's remix is built in deep minimal clef, leaving experimentation and ambient in order to center in faster rhythms straightly driven to the dancefloor.
The third original track of the italians, called Double Pleased, is a progressive hypnosis based on extasis atmospheres, a deep bomb and moody pulses getting into a quasi-biological conversation.
In the smartest face of minimal-ambient is Roman Skok's remix showing a doble slope. One of the sides turns into mistery and dream meanwhile the other creates unquietness thruogh a bomb that can be easily interpretated such a tachycardic heart beat.
Pablo Leon's revision owns an industrial, thicket and acid range becoming a corrosive rhythmical spiral being the most experimental track of all of them and a piece that catches the attention like a heavy machine.
Circal's remix arriving from the mind of Kimberly Klark is a real spotty ambient constructed with sounds that could had it source in nature, basses in the edge of saturation and a twilight luminosity.
Globally, Grace is a minimal exercise of eclecticism.

Roman Skok + Pep Gaya - Shiver My Timbers
Continue reading "Roman Skok + Pep Gaya - Shiver My Timbers"
"Shiver my timbers is an original work from roman skok with the collaboration of pep gaya making a remix with pep sound and viceversa to see how can you adapt others sounds to your finished work, here is the complete descroption from Roman
About my ep:
"Shiver my timbers ep" is basicly demo that i've send to LOD. It is four tracks, that i've produced in may/june 2004. I've a lot of a music stuff: albums, eps, mp3, waves and so on... and now, really, i don't remeber which sounds i've genereted with virtual synthizator and which i've have sampled and transformed into my own structure (maybe if i'll dig very deep in my memory...). What i can say for sure is this, that i've used Fruity Loops, Cool Edit Pro, Creative Recorder (programm added to my SoundBlaster 128 Pci);mouse, monitor, computer, headphones from discman, and poor computer loudspeakers (if i wanted to check low frequency in a track, i've got to wear this headphones...). But finally i've produced some compositions, that i've wanted to share.
The fifth track is my Pep Gayas - theory#8 remix . I've took his samples and transformed them liitle bit in cool edit pro and than, i've put them into fruity loops. I've worked without any thinking like: - "remix has something to do with its root track" - the connection was only in a basic sound. Further process was completly fresh for me ;) and i've realized that i've made my best track ever (haha!). After sending my remix to LOD, i've thought that maybe it's not good that, there is no clear connection between root track and it's remix (like on another remixes that you can hear on sinergy network site). But finally he have asked me for a title of a demo, and have accepted remix "i am going to release your 4 tracks with your remix of pep gayas song.....that works very nicely"...and here you are, "shiver my timbers!", if you don't like it J ."
